Standard Construction Augers – utilize a time tested and proven design. The hexagon socket is forged into the round axle (mid-body), instead of simply welded, eliminating a notorious point of failure for augers built by other manufacturers. The shank is forged, machined, heat-treated and welded to the axle, making it the only point of least resistance, should a down-hole failure occur. Two-Prong Mining (Pilot) Bits – are available from USExploration Equipment Company in either 2-Prong or 3-Prong styles. The Mining Bit is normally used as a Pilot Bit in a Plug assembly, as a part of a hollow stem auger lead section, or simply as a bit ideal for highly abrasive overburden when advanced with small diameter solid stem augers. Pinned to the end of the Plug with a socket head bolt, the Mining Bit helps advance the hollow stem auger cutterhead and tool string in difficult formations, because each prong has carbide inserts braised on the cutting face. Auger Holders (Forks or Pans) for Solid Stem Augers – from USExploration Equipment Company are used to keep auger assemblies from heading back down the bore hole, once the auger extraction process begins. This simple tool slides in between the “Pitch” of the flight, and tightly up against the outside of the Axle (mid-body) of the auger itself. Since the Holder diameter is larger then the bore hole created by your augers, the fork serves as your only chance to keep tools from heading back down the hole, once you have tripped (TD) off bottom…
