Three-Key Heavy Duty Hollow Stem Augers & Accessories – are manufactured to be compatible with existing tools using the same Pin and Box configurations. Our 3-Key Heavy Duty Hollow Stem Augers utilize a heat treated Pin with O-Ring for a watertight connection in the tool joint. Each assembly includes 5/16-inch thick flight to protect the Box, Lockbolts and Axle assembly. Our 3-Key Heavy Duty Drive Caps and Cutterheads are also compatible with your existing auger connections and utilize common components including Drive Keys, Lockbolts, Bushings, Flight Segments, Cutter Blades and Spades

This simple tool slides in between the “Pitch” of the flight, and tightly up against the outside of the Axle (mid-body) of the auger itself. Hollow Stem Auger (Spears/ Taps) Retrievers – are manufactured by USExploration Equipment Company and are normally used when a formation has caved in around the tool string, or a coupling has failed leaving good augers down-hole. The appropriate fishing tool should first be selected by coupling inside dimension, number of keys and finally auger type – standard or heavy duty. The inside or “Tap” type is ideal for recovering hollow stem augers, because the mid-bodies are much larger then solid stem augers, making a corkscrew type almost impossible to apply successfully – so it is much easier to get the hardened threads of the “Tap” inside the coupling and make a straight pull…Back to Top
