Kansas Geological Survey will continue to utilize their 2009 S-27CRS Truck mounted Compact-Roto-Sonic Drill to advance 4-inch (100mm) casing to 400-foot depths, collecting continuous core samples in support of their ongoing mapping projects here in 2011.
Summit Drilling Company

USExploration partners with Caterpillar (CAT) to develop a new auger anchoring system for the CAT Highwall Miners that are manufactured in Beckley, WV. This new threaded auger system creates a 6-1/2-inch (165 mm) diameter bore hole for the 6-inch (152mm) diameter anchor pins required to hold the Miner in place while it safely extracts coal from seams throughout the world. The new system utilizes an Air Swivel above the threaded Auger and a specially designed Bit options assuring that its anchoring pins can be installed safely in overburden or hard rock
USExploration Equipment Company has upgraded the design of their 2-1/4" (57mm) ID x 2-Key, Standard Duty Hollow Stem Augers by adding a second Lockbolt assuring a more rigid connection, a straight vertical pull of each assembly during hole abandonment and together with their 5/16" (8mm) thick, hardfaced Flight...this new design provides you the driller with the stoutest geotechnical hollow stem auger available.
USExploration’s client Earth Exploration of Indianapolis, IN USA has partnered with Enviropeel USA also of Indianapolis, IN to take an innovative step towards extending the life of Kelly Bar & Rotary Box bearings on their newest mechanical drive drill rig. Enviropeel is a spray-on thermoplastic product that is environmentally friendly, reusable and serves to completely encapsulate bearings & shafts – protecting them from rust & corrosion while allowing for full rotation with no heat build-up. Earth Exploration was looking for a way to extend both top & bottom (rotary box) bearing life in their fleet of mechanical drive drilling rigs & Enviropeel should serve as an answer to that ongoing problem with boxes of this design…The case will be protected from dirt & water both, however easy access to the guts of the box at any time is possible…simply slice the Enviropeel with a utility knife, peel it off, melt it down again & reapply when the (internal) service is complete…the right angle drive (on the same machine) was also encapsulated & will extend the life of that expensive assembly as well. Click here for a link to the before & after photos of this innovative product/ service available from Enviropeel USA.
